CAFE AT THE END OF THE WORLD WITH AMANDA DEIBERT

A friendly voice in the darkness telling you that everything is going to be okay...

This is how award-winning T.V. and comic book writer Amanda Deibert (He-Man, Teen Titans Go!, Wonder Woman) became known as one of the most reassuring and friendly personalities on social media. Now Spoon, the world’s leading audio live stream platform, hopes to replicate this feeling by giving Amanda her own interactive show called “Cafe at the End of the World.”

Amanda says the title came from an idyllic vision of, “a place to curl up with a beverage and take a break from the constant chaos and stress this year has brought. It’s not denying that life is hard right now, but rather a place to connect with others and remind ourselves of the reasons life can be wonderful.”

Every Monday evening at 8 p.m. P.T. listeners will find Cafe a safe and positive place to feel seen and be heard with LIVE interactions on Spoon Radio.

You can join live on Spoon each week here:

Or listen to the podcast later on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Audible, and more.

THE MOTHER OF ALL SHOWS

“F*ck! I’m pregnant.” Glow actress Kimmy Gatewood is here to tell you... It’ll. Be. Okay. How long should you breastfeed? Does your baby need to wear organic, homeopathic onesies? How do you find work-life balance? What if you suck at motherhood? Through investigative journalism, comedy, and honest interviews, Kimmy aims to uncover what it truly means to be a modern parent in an over-informed, Google-obsessed, placenta-eating world. Parenting: When you feel like you’re faking it, you’re doing it just right.

Amanda Deibert and Rebekka Johnson are on the panel discussing topics each week!

DYKING OUT WITH CAROLYN BERGIER & SARAH YORK

In episode 99 Carolyn and Sarah made the most of their L.A. adventure by dyking out with TV and comic book writer Amanda Deibert about parenting! You may know Amanda from her wonderful and often uplifting twitter account, which we discuss along with our thoughts on the horror genre and Twister-era Helen Hunt. Why also wonder what the hell happened to Leelee Sobieski (apparently she quit acting to be a visual artist). But then we get to the topic to talk about what it’s like being a parent, and specifically on in a same-sex relationship. How do parents navigate gender and gender stereotypes? Who goest to the father-daughter dance? How much of parenting is the same regardless of your sex or gender? Plus, we end with a question from a baby gay who hates meeting her girlfriend’s exes.

COMING OUT WITH LAUREN AND NICOLE

Episode 50: Amanda Deibert.TV/comic book writer Amanda Deibert grew up in an extremist Christian family/community in the Deep South, where it took her a while to figure out "that lesbians were even a thing." Despite the trauma of losing her mother at 14 and getting kicked out of her stepparents' house, Amanda eventually landed at a high school where she found her people. Her incredibly inspiring story covers such hits as sleepovers, trying super-hard to be bisexual, Harry Potter, and a sexy foreign exchange student!
